Ms. Ratner’s practice concentrates in the areas of general litigation, family law, elder law, legal malpractice and commercial litigation.
Ms. Ratner has litigated cases in both State and Federal Court with various subject matters including: family law, legal malpractice, banking, civil rights, sexual harassment, age discrimination, retaliation, restrictive covenants, breach of contract, construction law, personal injury and securities fraud. Ms. Ratner’s diverse background enables her to better represent her clients in various subject matters that arise during the course of litigation. Ms. Ratner is a member of the Attorney for the Child Panel in Supreme Court and Nassau County Family Court where she represents children in various areas including but not limited to custody and visitation, juvenile delinquency, guardianship, PINS cases, abuse and neglect. In addition, Ms. Ratner acts as Court Evaluator for Alleged Incapacitated Persons ("AIP") and Counsel to the AIP and is available for appointments as Guardian pursuant to Part 36 of the Rules of the Chief Judge of the New York State Unified Court System. Ms. Ratner is a Member of the Grievance Committee for the Tenth Judicial District and is a Board Member of the Jewish Lawyers Association of Nassau County. As a member of the Nassau County Bar Association, she is active in the Family Court Law and Procedure Committee and Commercial Litigation Committee. Ms. Ratner has been recognized as a Rising Star in the 2014 and 2015 New York Metro Area editions of Super Lawyers Magazine. Each year, no more than 2.5% of the lawyers in the state are selected by the research team at Super Lawyers to receive this honor. Ms. Ratner received her Juris Doctorate from the Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University School of Law in 2005 and her undergraduate degree from Syracuse University in 2002. |
